Maybe an Ohio YSR team? Expect to see riders from Japan.

Expect this to happen at the Grange Motor Circuit in Apple Valley, CA.

This is still being planned in detail, I just wanted to give a little advanced notice to some of my fellow YSR riders (other minis and motards welcome too :)) in case anyone would like to make the trip.

This is currently being planned for late in 2010. Current concerns are weather and wear-tear on bikes which is why it will be near the end of the racing season to have as little impact on all other organizations as possible. The cost of the last 8 hour was $120 per rider and the grid was packed.

Here are a couple if videos to kind of give you an idea of what to expect from M1GP.

WOW, looks like it would be crazy... not sure if a YSR would be able to last 24hrs... HAHA Looks like there were a bunch of NSR's out there.
I know my NSR would not last without an oil cooler!!!

I ran my YSR solo at the first 8 hour in 100°+ heat without problem.

M1GP has NSR50 race rentals

As an FYI, most of the M1GP classes are based on stock bikes. Mod bikes are not a problem, just stock bikes are cheaper to race and maintain so the organization (built up from CMRRA) is based on that idea. Just about any stock mini will handle the stress just fine.

NSR50 rentals, huh? I was gonna say, I'm not sure I could swing trucking my YSR all the way out there, but I might be down for a cross-country motorcycle trip to ride as part of a team…sound like a bad enough idea for anyone else to consider? I've been itching to make that trek anyway, that sounds like a perfect event to base the trip around.

There you go, pack up the bikes and camp at the track or at a nearby hotel. Rent a race bike, show us what Ohio can bring to California (not much I suppose :P ).

I am sure several of the locals would help out with logistics if you need it. Last year a large group of riders from Bermuda to rent the NSR's and get some race training. The same group where Toriano Wilson came from.

The roadrashracing team has been making plans to attend this event for several months now. I thought you guys already knew about this event???? Otherwise we'd have posted.

We'll be sure to take plenty of pix

I'm down. I'll build an engine just for the race!

I might need a wheelchair afterwards....

I wonder what the rulebook says about swapping engines/tires etc during the races.

M1GP is more of a stock based organization. There are mod classes, but stock is cheaper and more reliable 8)

Tire and engine swaps will be allowed. In the past you were allowed to bring all the spares you wanted, as long as you ran the race on the same bike. Or, for a fee, you could bring a spare bike. The fee is supposed to discourage you from bringing a spare bike because not everyone has a spare bike

I haven't talked to Young about it (the owner), but I am sure we will be looking for feedback on class structure.
