You might want to get in touch with this guy: Dan Schlosser <d.schlosser@beaverun.com>

He apparently does not know that you guys are coming.

I learned that from this public forum.

Hey all! As you may have surmised, I will indeed be in attendance this Saturday at the Beaver round. I've been a little bit outta the OYL loop, (but not riding in general-- I've been racing my pit bikes, and riding at my local track alot) so I'm trying to remember at what time the festivities will begin on Saturday a.m. If somebody could post and remind me, I'd appreciate it.

Not only am I looking forward to seeing all the guys and mixing it up with them, it should be an epic day as one of my grade school and Jr. High friends who lives near Pittsburgh is coming to the track to meet up. We haven't seen each other in person since... 1984-- haha! My parents were great friends with her mom and dad also. Thanks to Facebook, she's one of the many lost but found friends that I have back on my radar screen. Should be a great time. --L*64

Nice!

Pretty much the same as CRP....track opens at 7:30 or 8, folks get in, registered, practice, then the riders meeting. Typically I think the riders meeting is around 11. But, knowing that you are such an early morning kind of guy, you can get there by say...7:30 and be good to go!

With BR in receivership I have to imagine they will take any money they can get their hands on at this point. Let us know what Scott has to say, Conrad.

BR has been in financial trouble for quite some time now. But only recently have I heard anything "official" about the receivership status.

well, while it seems a bit chaotic that a whole bunch of other racers are coming that we didn't know about (although you might think since it's an OYL race, they may want to chime in on the OYL board) that means we're sure to have enough people there to make it worth BeaveRun's while to leave the track open for practice. I suppose the only challenge remaining is to get some racers there early enough on Friday to "claim" the track so they don't give up on us.

I'm totally speculating here, mind you. I'll do my best to get up and running Friday morning as early as possible with that in mind.

Part of the problem with people that race......... is that when a CLUB states they are not affiliated with any other club/s and make very very little effort to communicate with said clubs there becomes serious animosity towards the club that is not willing to acknowlege other clubs and the general interest of the regional sport.........

There are many other forums for miniGP racing, communication with these other racers is paramount to having a big attendence at such STELLAR tracks.

Sure the 22nd has been on OYL's schedule but every other club has a schedule as well.........

You have a few other clubs within a 4 hour drive (NJminiGP, CAMRA, TSMGP, MIMRA, if you want "US" to come out and play YOU have to accpect the fact that we exist and not be pissy and egotisical about "oyl's forum"........ a classic 'US verse THEM' conflict

BD and others have spewed about bringing out anyone and everyone you know, but what about the other mini racers?

Let the beating begin

We have 6 riders from MIMRA showing on Friday, Dave T., Jason, Nic, Ash, Josh, Teddy.......... Maybe some others but they are watching this squable unfold........

Teddy - Where did this come from? I was not aware of any squabble or animosity. Nor was I aware that The OYL will not recognize any other clubs. I find that particularly hard to believe considering we still have ESRA's rulebook posted on the website from back when we held combined events with them (are they even around anymore?). And Chuck, for example, comes to the odd OYL race or two and displays his organization's banner. Hell, when he brings enough people he even gets his own class. When/where have we said that we will not align our club with another club? I do recall a statement about that fact that we will not attach our name to an event taking place at a parking lot, but that is it.

Fact is, The OYL is happy to have any racer - regardless of what their home organization is - race with us. Do you want us to fly the NJminiGP, CAMRA, TSMGP, MIMRA banners if a member or two from each respective organization wants to race with us? If so, you're right, that is not going to happen. This is an OYL event, not a NJminiGP, CAMRA, TSMGP, MIMRA event and it is promoted as such. If someone wants to do a combined event with one or more of the aforementioned clubs I'm sure The OYL would be all ears and all associated organizations will be represented. But such a combined event is not going to be coordinated via a forum such as this or any other because, as you know, there is money, insurance, medical and all sorts of other elements to be hashed out.

Why don't we talk about this on Friday? I quite like you in person but I can't stand you online. Plus, this is getting far too serious.

Teddy... you know me and have seen me on ALL the "other" mini forums and posted the dates and events, such as the Harrison race coming up in Sept. I believe being the club's president, that it is somewhat my duty to post on the other forums and make phone calls to other clubs and their officials. I've got a good thing going with Ryan and NJMiniGP. They all seem like a GREAT bunch of racers over there and are focused on providing a safe environment for kids and "big" kids to race minis. My hat off to Ryan and all the people he got to help put that club together and they seem to be running a great program over there. NJMiniGP are going to bring out A LOT of members to race in Harrisons's Benefit race and also stay for the OYL race the next day. I've talked to many of the upper club officials at SEMRA about us doing a joint event at BeaveRun sometime and back before we all found out how expensive the new track in KY was, we were all talking about doing a joint event there.
I've done my job as the clubs president as far as marketing our club and getting our name out. I built this forum for everyone, not just OYL... it was designed to open up more discussions and for people all around the country and even the world to talk about mini's and racing. The more resources we have for this sport, the bigger it will get!

Jordan said it best.. OYL welcomes anyone and everyone to bring out a bike, or hell... we've loaned out bikes to new people before!
I don't understand why you hold so much hatred towards us and our club? If you don't like us, then don't post here anymore... its that simple. It seems lately.. all that you do is stir up problems and cause issues here. I do not hate you, your club or any other club... I just hope that you respect us and not post negative things on this forum. I wouldn't do it to your forum (if you've got one) or any other clubs forum.. it just isn't cool man. A little respect can go a long way buddy... like JR stated, we will talk in person. I've heard your stories from racing with SEMRA, and other clubs before at the pool in the Holiday Inn a few years ago, I know where you are coming from, but no one person can fix everything and make the mini roadracing world all sunshine and rainbows!
See ya Friday at the track! ;)
